Frequently asked questions.

How do I care for my piece?

Keeping it out of direct sunlight is the biggest thing to do. Sunlight can make fabric and bead colors fade over time, and we don’t want that!

UV protection glass is an option, but if you are in a humid climate, it’s usually best not to put textile art behind glass as it can encourage mold or mildew.

The only room I’d advised not hanging your treasure in is a bathroom. See humidity above. A powder room would be a lovely idea, though — a little jewel box to delight your guests. So fabulous!

Feather dust gently as needed, although I find that pieces don’t get dusty when they’re framed in shadowbox style — it’s just the inside of the frame itself that might need some attention.

Are all the pieces framed?

Yes! Pieces are offered in shadow box frames — smaller pieces are in shallower frames, and larger pieces are in deeper frames. You can get a feel for the sizes by looking at the description for each piece. You have the choice of either white or black frames for smaller pieces. Larger pieces are framed in white. (Only Sea Goddess Garden is unframed.)

If you’d like to reframe your piece, be sure to find a framer who is familiar with textile art. If you or your framer have questions about how to handle your piece, please do email me. But don’t be wigged out over it. It’s not a big deal to reframe it. There are just a few things to be aware of and I‘m happy to share them with you.

What if it just doesn’t work in my home? Can I return it?

With my Try It On guarantee, you have a week to live with your piece. If it just doesn’t look the way you thought it would, or you just don’t love it, let me know and I’ll arrange to have it returned to me. No questions asked. No hard feelings. No expense to you.

All I ask is that you wrap it back up, attach the return label I’ll email you, and either take it to the post office or tell me you’d like it picked up at your home and I’ll take care of that. As soon as I receive it, I’ll issue a full refund to your original form of payment. It’s just that easy.

I want you to have a piece you will love forever. Not something that you tolerate. Where is the joy in that?!?!

Life is hard enough without worrying about something like this that should bring you years of love and joy.
